So this is it. My first ever post in English. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now, and the reason for it is simple. I want to widen my audience. Not to particularly get more views, but to communicate with people from other nations and very likely to improve my English. Today, in fact, is my blog’s first birthday so I thought that it might be a good idea to take this new turn just today.
But who even am I, you might ask?
Well, I am Raili. A 15-year-old girl from a small country, Estonia. In autumn, I’m going to start 9th grade, which means I’m going to graduate next summer. I’m very passionate about music, arts, animals and blogging.
Right now I’m not quite sure if I’m going to duplicate every single post I write in Estonian into English, but I can guarantee, that every remarkable event etc will be brought to you.
But what even was the motivation for me to start blogging?
Well, I’ve always been that person, who wants to be really active on social media. A few years ago I started my own YouTube channel, but that failed due to massive bullying. After that I found some interesting blogs that I was absolutely drawn to. Since then, I had been dreaming about creating my very own blog. I even created numerous sites, but never published them because of the fear of bullying and hate.
It was just until the July of last year when I finally decided: “You know what? You’ve been dreaming about it for years. It’s time to pursue your dreams. You’ve grown stronger than you’ve ever been and this time the hate will not ruin it.” So I did it. I finally decided to step out of my comfort zone and write my first, seventh, thirty-second and eighty-fourth post. And it has been the best decision of my life so far.
Like every other blogger, at first I wrote for myself and a few close friends. But for the reason of finding people, who can relate, I started sharing my posts in a bloggers’ Facebook group. That lead me to the point, where I reached my first 100, 500, 1000, and today, as if a gift, 5000 views. For me it is truly unbelievable. Of course, for big successful bloggers it is almost as good as nothing, but for me it is a true achievement.
I think I’m going to end this post right about here! I hope you enjoyed it!
PS! If you find any grammatical errors, feel free to leave me a comment because English isn’t my national language and as mentioned, I want to improve it! Thanks!
